SAN is out of style

These days NAS is so fast SAN is getting old. Unless you really need block level just go NAS. 

With UCS these days and you can plug NAS straight into the system. NFS is a natural shared filesystem.

Never thought I would one day say that "SAN is out of style". 

Shared SAN filesystems are better handled by native app (Oracle ASM for example) or nice stuff like GPFS. But you still have a lot of configuration and troubles. NAS takes no special steps or apps on the host.
