Cisco Acquired Inlet Technologies back in the day. Always thought the Elemental servers managed with UCSM like a C-Series would have been the most bad-ass encoding farm around.
Now we find Amazon buys Portland’s Elemental Technologies!
Cisco you totally blew this one!!! Inlet is crap based on CPU encoding, and Elemental with badass GPU encoding was just waiting to be UCSM managed. All the Elemental servers needed was CIMC integration.
If Cisco never had an interest in Audio/Video encoding Not Buying Elemental would be a non-issue. But it appear Cisco does since Inlet was purchased.
The sad reality Cisco… by Amazon and its worker friendly culture…
