The Cisco MDS switches keep harassing the old-school Brocade SAN types like me. The useful features become more attractive by the day.
Smart Zoning would make life easier especially with large zone sets like a Boot SAN would have. Adding a member (WWPN) to a “Zone” as a Brocader would call it and a 1 to 1 Initiator to Target relationship being created is pretty rocking. Also it is a configuration that maps to common sense. It is what we do anyhow with usually the creation of 2 zones per switch in a dual fabric.

Great Video on “Cisco UCS Native FC Zoning” This guy breaks it down from start to finish.
