Cisco snatches up conversational AI startup for $125 million

Big tech companies are plunking down lots of cash to bulk up in artificial intelligence and conversational software.

In the latest example of that trend, Cisco on Thursday said it agreed to buy AI firm MindMeld for $125 million. The San Francisco startup builds “human-like” conversational interfaces for apps and devices.
